The Massachusetts School Library Association (MSLA) has a history going back six decades. There have been changes to MSLA’s name, focus, and governance. However, the mission has always been steady: to ensure that the students of Massachusetts have access to school library programs with excellent resources and knowledgeable professionals. As we watch school libraries evolve to Learning Commons, implement the new Common Core Standards, and struggle to determine how to deliver digital resources and provide a 24/7 presence for our students, it is worth looking at how our organization has grown and changed.
