MSLA invites students in grades K-12 to participate in our annual Bookmark Design Contest. We are asking students to design a bookmark that shows how the school library sparks big ideas, fosters community, and empowers every voice. |

How to Pitch This to Your Admin
Here are three key talking points to use when speaking with your principal:
- Promotes Literacy & School Culture:This isn't just an art project; it's a literacy initiative. It encourages students to reflect on their relationship with reading and the library, fostering a positive "culture of literacy" that is linked to higher student engagement.
- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): The contest provides a platform for self-expression and student voice. For many students—especially those who may struggle in traditional testing—this is a high-visibility way to build confidence and feel a sense of belonging within the school.
- Low Cost, High Advocacy: The contest is free to enter and requires minimal resources, yet it provides a powerful "PR" opportunity for the school. Having a student from your school win a statewide contest is a "win" for the entire school.
